I reached out to Kirk a few weeks ago and was excited for him to say yes. We spoke on a Monday night a few weeks ago and I enjoyed our conversation. During the 1 hour or so we chatted we covered a lot as we talked about his life. From growing up in southern California during the 70’s and 80’s, learning at a young age that he loved the experiencing of coaching the sports just as much as playing. Over his softball coaching career that started at UCLA while attending the school, he would move into a head coaching career at Oregon State. While there he was successful in building a strong program as well as building an amazing family. He explained how he ended back at UCLA as an assistant coach. Throughout our conversation you get a sense of the love, passion and appreciation he has for women in sports and specifically softball.
During our chat Kirk mentions a couple of groups currently on facebook you could join for players and coaches in college sports. Reach out to him with the email address he mentions during our chat. Below you can find some links as well to find him on the social networks. I am also including a link to the UCLA Softball Instagram page.
